We search for candidates with advanced knowledge and experience in one of our content areas: woodworking, gardening, and cooking. If you are a spirited and enthusiastic chef, gardener, DIY'er, or woodworker, and think you'd enjoy working for one of our magazines, we want to hear from you. While writing experience is important, we will consider candidates who do not have a writing background for editorial positions.
Woodsmith Magazine is looking for a Shop Craftsman to build woodworking projects and jigs, as well as photo props. This is a full-time, inhouse position located in Des Moines, IA. Additionally, the person in this position will work closely with the Woodsmith editorial staff and Project Designers, as well as maintaining the woodworking shop.
The ideal candidate will be highly skilled in all aspects of woodworking as well as experienced in the use and maintenance of all woodworking tools and equipment. Knowledge of OSHA safety standards a plus.
